Job Training Scheme

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment whether he proposes to make any changes in the job training scheme.

As was announced in the White Paper, "Training for Employment", the new and the old job training schemes, together with all our other training programmes for adults and the community programme will be replaced by employment training from 5 September. There will be transitional arrangements as the current schemes are replaced by the new programme, and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State recently announced that a £10 premium is now payable to new JTS participants in line with plans for employment training.
