HC Deb 09 June 1988 vol 134 c661W
Mr. Tony Lloyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what are the implications for the north-west region of current changes in national employment patterns.

Mr. Lee

The north-west is sharing in the growth in employment in the service sector, self-employment and part-time jobs. These sectors comprise a similar share of employment in the north-west as in Great Britain as a whole.
