HC Deb 07 June 1988 vol 134 c513W
Mr. Galloway

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) how many arrests for kerb crawling have been made by Strathclyde police in Glasgow in the last 12 months and the previous 12 months;

(2) how many convictions there have been in Glasgow for kerb crawling in the last 12 months and the previous 12 months.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

There is no statutory offence of kerb crawling in Scotland. Depending on the circumstances, incidents involving kerb crawling may be charged as breach of the peace but statistics on such convictions are not separately identifiable in the Scottish Home and Health Department classification of crimes and offences.
