To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many job vacancies in Bury were reported in the first quarter of 1988 and what were the figures for the previous five years.

The table shows the number of new notified vacancies, excluding community programme vacancies, at the Bury jobcentre in the first quarter of each year from 1984. Vacancy statistics for local areas are only available on a consistent basis from April 1983.
