§ Mr. SteenTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make arrangements for the constituents of South Hams to receive free deliveries of beef and butter recently announced, which are currently unavailable because of a lack of delivery arrangements.
§ Mr. MacGregorApplications were invited until 29 February from non-profit making organisations willing and able to distribute beef and butter to the needy. Although a large number of applications were received, none were from South Hams. Since the whole of the United Kingdom's allocation of funds has been divided between the 127 designated organisations, it would not be appropriate to entertain late applications. Nor do the rules of the scheme permit us to accept late applications as qualifying for the use of European Community funds.
