§ Mr. BerminghamTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many of those arrested at the England v Scotland football match on Saturday 21 May at Wembley stadium, were arrested(a) in the immediate vicinity of the ground before the kick-off, (b) within the ground before, during and after the match and (c) in the immediate vicinity of the ground after the match; what was the nature of the charges brought in respect of the persons arrested in categories (a), (b) and (c) above; and how many persons were charged in respect of each category.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggIn category(a) 48 were arrested, of whom 21 were charged; in category (b) 27 were arrested, of whom 11 were charged; and in category (c) 37 were arrested, of whom 26 were charged. The charges related mainly to a variety of public order offences.
