Mr. Greg Knight

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to receive the report of the Parliamentary Boundary Commission for England on its next general review.

Mr. Hurd

The commission is obliged to report on the whole of England between 1 February 1993 and 31 January 1998. The exact timing and conduct of any review is a matter for the commission.

However, I understand that, at present, the commission hopes to submit a report to me as early as it can within the statutory period, providing there are no unforeseen delays.
