HL Deb 29 July 1988 vol 500 cc567-8WA
Baroness Jeger

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether it is their intention that the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Hospital should continue with its present status and functions, specialising in providing medical services for women from a wide area by women doctors.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Social Security (Lord Skelmersdale)

The hospital will continue its special traditions, and the right of women to choose treatment from a woman doctor would be preserved in the event of a merger with the Hospital for Women, Soho Square.
