§ Mr. DobsonTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish information about(a) the length of in-patient stays, (b) mortality, (c) the nurse-patient ratio, (d) the junior doctor-patient ratio and (e) the senior doctor-patient ratio for all private hospitals which treat National Health Service patients under contractual arrangements with district health authorities.
§ Mrs. CurrieStatistical information concerning National Health Service patients treated under contractual arrangements with private hospitals is included in the activity information submitted to the Department by health authorities. Information on the numbers of private hospital staff involved in contractual arrangements is not collected centrally. The available data are currently being processed and decisions will be taken in due course as to how much of the information can usefully be published on a routine basis.
