§ Mr. RyderMy Department offers free initial advice to farmers on pollution avoidance, and now provides free of charge the code of good agricultural practice. Capital grants are available at high rates to farmers investing in new waste storage or treatment facilities. Research is being carried out into improved construction and management of these facilities. We have fully backed water authorities in stepping up prosecutions.
