Mr. Dobson

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if, pursuant to the answer of 8 December 1987,Official Report, columns 139–40, relating to information on hospital closures deposited in the Library, he will give the month and year in which St. James hospital in west Norfolk and Wisbech health authority was approved for closure.

The hospital referred to was formally approved for closure in May 1978 but did not finally close until September 1986 when phase II of the new Queen Elizabeth hospital opened.
