HC Deb 27 July 1988 vol 138 c338W
Mr. Malcolm Bruce

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what estimate he has of the cost of building a dental hospital in Edinburgh in the event of the University Grants Committee working party's proposals for rationalising Edinburgh and Dundee dental schools going ahead.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

[holding answer 21 April 1988]: Current plans are to build a replacement dental hospital in Edinburgh for about £5.5 million. No firm estimate has been prepared of the cost of expanding the proposed dental hospital to take account of the working party's proposals for a larger student intake to the Edinburgh dental school than that accommodated in the current hospital plans.
