§ Mr. LilleyFigures for the public sector borrowing requirement (PSBR) are published inFinancial Statistics, table 2.6. Chart 2.3 of the Financial Statement and Budget Report shows private borrowing as a percentage of GDP since 1974–75, where private borrowing is defined along similar lines to the PSBR. Recent figures for bank and building society lending, and public sector counterparts to 276W broad money, are available in table 11.7 of Financial Statistics. Figures for earlier years are available from the Bank of England on request.
