HC Deb 26 July 1988 vol 138 c236W
Sir Geoffrey Finsberg

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment which sections of the Housing and Planning Act 1986, remain to be brought into force; and if he will list the dates on which he intends to make them operative.

Mr. Ridley

The following provisions of the Housing and Planning Act 1986 remain to be brought into force: sections 5, 7, 8, 30–38, 42, and 43 and certain minor and consequential amendments and repeals.

These provisions will be brought into force as appropriate, when the necessary preparatory work, including the making of statutory instruments, has been completed. However, the current Housing Bill includes provision to repeal section 7.
