Mr. Bell

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the proportion of deaths from coronary heart disease; and what equivalent information he has for other members of the European Community.

The latest available information is shown in the table. Data have, with the exception of those for the United Kingdom and England and Wales, been taken from the 1987 edition of World Health Organisation "World Health Statistics" annual; for Belgium, the data were obtained from the "UN Demographic Year Book 1986".
