To ask the Prime Minister if she will make an announcement about the chairmanship of the advisory committee on business appointments.

§ The Prime Minister
My right hon. and noble Friend the Lord Carlisle of Bucklow, QC, has accepted my invitation to succeed the right hon. and noble Lord Diamond as chairman of the advisory committee on business appointments with effect from November 1988.I wish to express the Governments appreciation of Lord Diamond's service as chairman of this committee under successive Governments since its inception in 1975.
