HC Deb 25 July 1988 vol 138 cc88-9W
21. Mr. Colvin

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy if, when he next meets the chairman of the Central Electricity Generating Board, he will raise with him the extent of the shortfall of electricity supply on the south-western supergrid in the event that no further power stations are commissioned between now and 1995; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Parkinson

I meet the chairman of the Central Electricity Generating Board on a regular basis to discuss a number of subjects. The Central Electricity Generating Board sees a need for new generating capacity in the south-west to ensure the existing security of supply.
