§ Mr. HumeTo ask the Secretary of State for Northem Ireland (1) what account he will take of the NPCI package for rural Wales under the regional fund in his considerations about an integrated rural development plan for Northern Ireland;
(2) what consideration the Government have given to the Hume resolution in the European Parlianent on an 39W integrated rural development programme for Northern Ireland, the Maher report outlining and recommending such a programme and the European Commission's response to those proposals; and whether the Government have any plans to pursue such a programme.
§ Mr. Needham[holding answer 20 July 1988]: In considering ways in which to maximise the benefits to Northern Ireland of funds available from the European Community account is taken of the proposal supported by the European Parliament for an integrated rural development programme and of other relevant proposals.
