§ Mr. Hurd[holding answer 7 July 1988]: The following figures, which are consistent with those given by my right hon. Friend the Chief Secretary of the Treasury on 27 May at columns 375–76 relate to receipts in respect of programme expenditure for which the Home Office is responsible. Receipts in respect of running cost expenditure are not included.
§ Mr. WaldegraveOf the 18,474 planning appeals decided between 1 April 1987 and 31 March 1988, 6,955 (37.6 per cent.) were allowed and 11,519 (62.4 per cent.) were refused. In all cases the grant of planning permission on appeal is subject to a condition that sets a time Iimit within which the development must commence.
Information on the proportion of planning appeals allowed that were subject to further restriction or where the proposal in the original application was amended is not available.
