§ Mr. Harry GreenwayTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department on what date the governor of Her Majesty's prison Lindholme took up appointment; on what date the categorisation for Her Majesty's prison Lindholme was altered to enable it to house non-category C prisoners; and what other changes in(a) management and (b) population have occurred since November 1987.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggThe governor took up his appointment at Her Majesty's prison Lindholme on 20 June 1988. The establishment has never held inmates in security categories higher than category C, and no changes in the criteria under which prisoners are allocated there have been made since November 1987. Following the conversion of an existing building, an additional 250 places became available at Lindholme earlier this year. Inmates are being allocated to the new places according to existing criteria. Fresh Start working began at the establishment on 3 January this year.
