Mr. John Hughes

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will publish his reply to the letters from the Association of National Health Service Officers dated 10 June and 20 April 1988;

(2) what information he has as to breaches of the Data Protection Act by a lay menber of the Coventry family practitioner committee; what action he proposes to take; and if he will make a statement;

(3) what representations he has received from the Association of National Health Service Officers concerning threats allegedly made against a senior officer, and threats of redundancies made to a trade union official pursuing a grievance; what action he proposes to take; and if he will make a statement.

Officials replied to the association on 20 July 1988. Publication of the correspondence is a matter for the association.

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will establish an internal inquiry into the allegations of misconduct by the Coventry family practitioner committee made by the hon. Member for Coventry, North-East on 10 June,Official Report, columns 1151–53.
