- L. Hobbes
All are believed to be of British nationality.
Barlow Clowes International is registered in Gibraltar and information about it is not publicly available in the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. Nicholas WintertonTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster (1) what information his Department has concerning the amount of income derived by the Barlow Clowes International operations from(a) the United Kingdom and (b) overseas sources;
(2) what information his Department has concerning the amount of income invested by the Barlow Clowes International operations in United Kingdom companies.
§ Mr. MaudeNone, at this stage. Barlow Clowes International is in liquidation in Gibraltar and my hon. Friend may wish to seek information from the joint liquidators.
§ Mr. Nicholas WintertonTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what percentage of the investors in Barlow Clowes international operations whose cases have recently been referred to him are resident within the United Kingdom.
§ Mr. MaudeThe vast majority of letters received by my Department concerning investors who may have placed 25W money with Barlow Clowes International have involved persons resident in the United Kingdom. Less than 1 per cent. of cases put to the Department have involved persons resident overseas.
