To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if there are any plans for members of the police force to be exempted from paying the community charge.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, if he will seek to amend the Local Government Finance Bill, to limit the data to be given to the community charge officer to an individual's name and address.

No. The Bill limits the registration officer to requesting locally held information which he requires for the purpose of carrying out his functions.
