Under the provisions of the Transfer of Functions (Minister for the Civil Service and Treasury) Order 1987, which took effect on 25 December last year, the Management and Personnel Office ceased to exist as a Government Department; its work being divided between Her Majesty's Treasury and the newly created office of the Minister for the Civil Service.
