§ Mr. John PattenNinety-four per cent. of all recorded crime is against property. All these areas recorded decreases of between 4 and 13 per cent. in the number of burglaries. This suggests that crime can be reduced when effective targeting by the policy is combined with sensible crime prevention by members of the public and businesses.
