To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what recent representations he has received regarding the future of enterprise zones.

Since December 1987 when my right hon. Friend announced that there would be no general extension to the enterprise zone experiment, representations have been received in respect of proposed extensions to the Telford and north-east Lancashire enterprise zones.
