HL Deb 19 July 1988 vol 499 cc1295-6WA
Lord Northfield

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, in view of the number of deer being transported both within the United Kingdom and as exports and imports and of the lack of relevant documentation, they will now give a date when they will lay an amended Movement of Animals (Records) Order to include deer.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (Baroness Trumpington)

Exports and imports of deer are subject to detailed health certification requirements. It is the Government's intention to bring deer within the terms of the Movement of Animals (Records) Order 1960, as amended, but no date has been set for this.
