HC Deb 18 July 1988 vol 137 c472W
Ms. Gordon

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether there will be a public inquiry into the compulsory purchase orders required for the Limehouse link.

Mr. Trippier

A public inquiry into the London Docklands Development Corporation (Limehouse Link, Tower Hamlets) Compulsory Purchase Order 1988 is being arranged. The decision not to call in the planning application in respect of the Limehouse link road proposal was taken after consideration of all relevant matters and of all representations made to the planning authority and to my Department. The Limehouse link would not be a trunk road, but would be a distribution road within docklands, constructed and owned by the LDDC.

Ms. Gordon

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment who was consulted in the latest announcement not to call a public inquiry into the Limehouse link.

Mr. Trippier

No. The Limehouse link and other distributor roads within docklands will be constructed and owned by the LDDC.
