§ Mr. Nicholas BennettTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales what representations have been received from Preseli Pembrokeshire and South Pembrokeshire district councils concerning their housing capital allocations; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Ian GristThe Department has received no representations from South Pembrokeshire district council. Preseli Pembrokeshire district council has undertaken an evaluation of its outstanding housing problems identified by our 1986 Welsh house condition survey. The Department is considering this and the associated resource implications which will we understand form part of the authority's future housing strategy and investment programme.
§ Mr. Nicholas BennettTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list the housing capital allocations made to each Welsh local authority for 1988–89 together with the amount actually allocated for the present financial year with the percentage of the total applications and allocations each figure represents.
§ Mr. GristInformation relating to capital allocations issued to date in the current financial year (1988–89) is given in the following table.
Local authorities provide statements of the total size of housing investment programmes they would like to undertake. They do not bid specifically for their main housing capital allocations which are largely formula based and are only a part of the resources available to carry out their programme.
