To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services what savings to public funds will accrue from the move of his Department to Richmond House.

Mr. Moore

[holding answer 14 July 1988]: The move of my Ministers and 480 support staff to Richmond house is designed to improve operational efficiency rather than release financial savings. Hitherto my Department has had no premises within the Division bell area nothwithstanding the heavy parliamentary duties of DHSS Ministers.
