HC Deb 15 July 1988 vol 137 cc371-2W
Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what representations he has received about a proposal to put an underground pipeline from Cwm Dyli power station in the event of its reopening; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Grist

I have received a number of representations, from the Snowdonia National Park Society and others, objecting to the CEGB's replacement plans for the supply pipelines to its Cwm Dyli hydro-electric station.

The CEGB and the local planning authority take the view that replacement is "permitted development" under the terms of the Town and Country Planning General Development Order 1977.

Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what information he has on research into the feasibility of laying an underground pipeline to serve Cwm Dyli power station.

Mr. Grist

I am not aware of any such research.
