To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will make a statement on implementation of the clinical grading review.

Mr. Newton

Health authorities have been issued with comprehensive guidance on the implementation of the new clinical grading structure and have been asked to complete the exercise by 31 October 1988.

72. Mr. Caborn

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will take steps to ensure that the clinical grading review is based on actual jobs performed at the beginning of April and that managers will not be rewriting job descriptions.
