HC Deb 04 July 1988 vol 136 c405W
Mr. Hoyle

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department which company has purchased the empty prison officers houses in Culcheth; whether all the houses have now been sold; whether the hostel has been sold; what price was paid for the properties; and what arrangement was reached with Warrington borough council regarding the roads and services.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

Agreement has been reached to sell these properties to the firm which submitted the highest tender but completion has yet to take place. This awaits the conclusion, which is expected shortly, of negotiations between the prospective purchaser and Warrington borough council on proposals made for minor changes to the layout of the roads. The specifications for the works to be undertaken by the purchaser to secure adoption of the roads and services have been agreed with Warrington borough council.

The name of the prospective purchaser and the price to be paid cannot be made public until the sale has been completed.
