§ Mr. John PattenVoluntary organisations which provide alcohol advice and counselling services receive grants from local authorities, health authorities and other sources. The probation service may co-operate with these organisations when preparing social inquiry reports for the courts on offenders with alcohol problems. No information is available centrally about the level of financial support which such organisations receive from public funds.
