HC Deb 26 January 1988 vol 126 cc173-4W
Mr. Ron Brown

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what information he has as to how many vessels were seached for illegal drugs in the Firth of Forth area during 1984, 1985, 1986 and 1987, respectively; and what were the numbers of convictions.

Mr. Lilley

I have been asked to reply.

Vessels are not searched by Customs specifically for illegal drugs, but for smuggled goods in general (although the detection of drugs is, of course, a top priority). The numbers of vessels searched, drugs and other smuggled goods found, and convictions are as follows:

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

At 31 March 1987, approximately 21,300 dwellings owned by local authorities were vacant. Up-to-date figures for the other groupings requested are not available.
