To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent representations he has made to the State Department of the United States concerning the continued funding of the Contra rebels in Nicaragua; and if he will make a statement.

We regularly discuss central America with the United States Administration, and they are well aware of our support for a peaceful rather than a military solution to the problems of that region.
