HC Deb 25 January 1988 vol 126 cc50-1W
Mr. Menzies Campbell

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what consideration he has given to the safety of United Kingdom competitors when they attend the summer Olympic Games in Seoul, in the light of the current civil unrest in South Korea; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Moynihan

The Department and the Foreign and Commonwealth Office will continue to review the situation in the Republic of South Korea during the period between now and the Olympic games in Seoul. I understand that the number of incidents has declined sharply since the presidential elections on 16 December 1987.
