To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he will be taking, following the recent conference on North sea pollution, to monitor the reductions in pollution in the North sea agreed at that conference.

I propose shortly to issue a guidance note concerning the implementation of the agreements to reduce pollution reached at the second international conference on the protection of the North sea.
