To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services in what percentage of social security tribunal cases in each year from 1980 to 1986 the claimant was represented.

The tables give the information required. Prior to April 1984, appeal statistics on representation were kept only for supplementary benefit appeal tribunals. There are no comparable figures for national insurance local tribunals.
