§ Mr. GillTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what consideration he has given to compelling planning authorities to advise parish councils and adjacent owners of planning applications in their area.

Local planning authorities are not required to notify the owners of adjacent property about planning applications, because those authorities are best placed to decide on appropriate publicity for particular development proposals.
