To ask the Prime Minister if she will list by name all non-departmental public bodies in existence on 1 June 1979 and those in existence on 31 December 1987.

Appendix A to the report on non-departmental public bodies (Cmnd. 7797) published in January 1980 lists by name 2,112 non-departmental public bodies in existence in September 1979. A list of the 1,643 bodies in existence on 1 April 1987 is to be found in "Public Bodies 1987", publication of which was announced by my right hon. Friend the Minister of State, Privy Council Office, on 2 December 1987, at column 575. Information relating to the dates requested could only be provided at disproportionate cost.
