HC Deb 15 January 1988 vol 125 c455W
Mr. Butler

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has regarding the costs or savings to Cheshire county council in 1986–87 following bus deregulation.

Mr. David Mitchell

Cheshire county council budgeted to spend £5.5 million on revenue support for passenger transport in 1986–87. Following deregulation, I understand that actual expenditure for that year was less than £3.5 million.
