To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what proportion of the professional information technology staff in his Department, including programmers, systems analysts and managers, are based in London and the south-east.

Of the professional information technology staff engaged in administrative computing in the Department of Trade and Industry, 50 per cent. are based in London and the south-east.

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what proportion of the trainees for professional information technology posts within his Department are(a) female and (b) more than 30 years of age.

Of the trainees for professional information technology posts engaged in administrative computing in the Department of Trade and Industry, 37 per cent. are women and 22 per cent. are more than 30 years of age.
