To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is the total estimated cost of the three improvements to the A406 in the London borough of Enfield between Bounds Green and Halls lane; and what are the average 16 hour peak traffic flows on these sections of the road.

There are four improvement schemes in preparation or under construction on the A406 North Circular road in the London borough of Enfield. The total estimated cost, including works, land and fees, at December 1987 prices for each scheme is:

The average 16-hour traffic flow along the length of the A406 in the London borough of Enfield varies between 35,000 and 45,000 vehicles.
