§ Mr. Rooker
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will bring forward proposals to update continuously the electoral register in the same manner as planned for the poll tax register.

§ Mr. Douglas Hogg
No. The Representation of the People Act 1983 requires local registration officers to compile the electoral register annually afterhouse to house or other sufficient enquiry".
They are encouraged to ensure the best practicable coverage of those entitled to vote. There are no plans to alter the statutory arrangements.
