HC Deb 11 January 1988 vol 125 c32W
Mr. Ron Davies

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food whether farmers, opting to set aside land for woodlands under his proposed extensification scheme, are expected to claim the relevant rate of grant for their management under that scheme or from the proposed farm woodland grant scheme.

Mr. MacGregor

[holding answer 18 December 1987]: The consultation document issued on 9 December suggested a possible link between the extensification scheme and the farm woodland scheme whereby a farmer prepared to accept the requirements of both schemes might receive payments for the first five years under the extensification scheme and payments under the farm woodland scheme thereafter. But I shall wish to consider the relationship between the two schemes further in the light of all views expressed.
