HC Deb 24 February 1988 vol 128 c216W
Mr. Alan Williams

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what representations he has received, and on what dates, about the staffing needs of the neonatal and paediatric units at Morriston hospital; and what action he has taken.

Mr. Grist

[holding answer 23 February 1988]: My right hon. Friend received representations about nurse staffing levels at the Morriston hospital special-care baby unit at a meeting with a delegation of Welsh Labour MPs on 18 January 1988, and during the course of the Welsh Grand Committee on 10 February 1988. No representations have been received concerning staffing needs of the paediatric unit. Detailed operational questions as to the proper level of nurse staffing are a matter which falls to the responsibility of the West Glamorgan health authority.
