HC Deb 24 February 1988 vol 128 cc222-4W
Mr. Illsley

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many places on community programmes listed by geographical area or agency, were not taken up during the year 1986–87; whether he will in future take these figures into account in the allocation of places on such schemes, particularly with regard to future allocations to areas or agencies which were fully subscribed.

Mr. Lee

Information in the form requested could be obtained only at disproportionate costs. However, the table shows for each MSC area the amount by which filled community programme places on 31 March 1987 exceed or fall short of the area allocation. Past performance in filling places is one of the factors that is taken into account in the allocation of places, both to areas and to individual schemes.
