79. Mr. Bernie Grant

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what further action he is taking to eliminate racism in the armed forces.

I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave him on 8 February 1988, at column82. Any complaint of racial discrimination brought by a member of the armed forces would be fully investigated under redress of grievance procedures provided for in the Service Discipline Acts. If proven, appropriate action would be taken against those involved.
