HC Deb 23 February 1988 vol 128 cc114-5W
Mr. Alan Williams

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will direct the West Glamorgan health authority to ensure that the names of the people undertaking the inquiry into the intensive baby care unit at Morriston hospital are made public and that the results of the inquiry are published.

Mr. Grist

I understand that West Glamorgan health authority has initiated an internal inquiry following serious allegations about the special-care baby unit, Morriston hospital. The inquiry team will consist of the chairman of the authority and two members to be specified. The intention is for their report to be presented to a meeting of the authority in March 1988. In the circumstances I have no reason to consider the issue of a direction to the authority on this question.
